About the event
Information on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) has begun to be introduced in NYS to a variety of educational professionals - from early childhood through K-12. While education about ACEs is critically important, it is arguably even more paramount that education in building skills in mitigating ACEs be provided to teachers and staff. Children often spend more waking hours in school settings than they do at home. Schools work to deepen student understanding of bullying prevention, but often have staff whose interactions with students are grounded in power and control, instead of respect and the trauma principles. We know from the research that safe, stable and healthy relationships with trusted adults improve outcomes for children. This training series will ground school professionals in an understanding of ACEs, the Protective Factors Framework and healthy, respectful relationship building.
This program is fully synchronous online. (3 CTLE Hours)
