About the event
Comprehension depends as much on what students already know as on how well they can decode. This workshop explores how building background knowledge across content areas strengthens reading comprehension and vocabulary growth. Participants will examine knowledge-rich curricula and practice designing thematic units that layer content knowledge over time. You'll leave with strategies and resources for weaving knowledge-building into your literacy block.
This workshop is being run in partnership with SUNY Potsdam and is CTLE-approved. It is being offered by the SLVTLC free of charge to the participant/district.
